OGL 200 : Diversity in the workplace

This OGL 200 paper was my first real exposure to learning about how diversity can affect organizations. For this I was tasked to pick an organization which was progressive insurance. It was fascinating how a work environment can effect diversity in a workplace. Through this research paper I gained crucial components to what makes balanced teams more effective when comprised of a diverse mix of people. Learning to appreciate this arrangement it what I found fascinating, being able to experience and learn about others stories, culture, and values; as well as what they can bring to an organization. Everyone has a unique quality that be useful when placed in a comfortable and supporting workplace.

OGL: 220 Behavioral Dynamics in Organizations

This TedxTalk features Sam Richards. This is one of my favorite videos from my early OGL classes and was one of the most eye opening in terms for perspective. What I was able to take away from this was a better understanding of being able to place yourself in other people's shoes and experience. This was a huge expansion of my emotional intelligence and how to better approach dynamics in organizations; no matter through confronting conflict, deadlines, or even cutbacks. I was able to grasp a better frame to understand how this can affect teams and individuals in an organization.

OGL: 340 Artificial intelligence the human side

OGL 340: The Aikido way  to Conflict Resolution

An important aspect in leadership is to know ones self before others. This course provided just that. The Aikido way to conflict resolution was a great practice to not only be able to apply methods for finding and staying centered in conflict. Through techniques provided in my artifact such as "The hand on the wall exercise." That can spotlight if you are not focused and not centered. Having clarity, calmness, and confidence is key in making proper leadership choices and how to effectively address and handle conflict that may arise in an organization.

This course broadened my understanding of the impact and importance of Artificial Intelligence and how it is changing our world. I did not know how much the impact has had on the world since the beginning of automation. Through OGL 340 I have grasped the pros and cons of how A.I. can impact and organization. There is still a great hurdle for A.I. to perfectly integrate with many business approaches, but it is becoming ever more accepted and applied to big companies today that can benefit not only teams but for organizational efficacy as well. I was thankful to be apart of this course as i was one of the first to take it when it was released at ASU and I feel it has provided a great insight into the future of what A.I. can hold for organizational success.
